2016 marks the centenary of Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill, one of London’s much loved seafood restaurants, considered to many as a British Institution, which has been under the successful chef ownership of Richard Corrigan for over 10 years. Quietly confident and yet elegantly understated, Bentley’s values remain to this day championing local produce, independent suppliers and ethical eating, whilst the staff deliver warm and informal, but polished service.
During her 100 year reign, Bentley’s has amassed a large repertoire of classic dishes such as the fish pie, the handpicked dressed crab, Dover sole goujons, royal shellfish platter, as well as sourcing the best hand reared meats from the UK and Ireland. The star of the show has and always will be the largest showcase of ‘wild’ & ‘native’ oysters sourced across the British & Irish isles from Kent to Achill, all expertly shucked (up to 1000 oysters daily) and served by the famous ‘Bentley’s Oyster Boys’.
In addition to the Oyster Bar, the Grill Room and the Terrace, Bentley’s also benefits from two beautifully decorated private dining rooms. The sophisticated and intimate Crustacea Room, with select pieces from chef Richard Corrigan’s own art collection, will accommodate up to 14 guests, while the larger Swallow Street Rooms accommodate up to 60 guests for dining, or 100 guests for a standing canapé reception. Boasting a private lounge bar and separate entrance, it provides the ideal space for business lunches, dinners, private celebrations and cocktail parties.
