ABOUT
Richard Corrigan is proud to announce The Portrait Restaurant at the National Portrait Gallery, which opened its doors in July 2023, following a significant refurbishment and transformation of the gallery itself.
The new destination restaurant and bar takes over the top floor of the Gallery, in an intimate space with panoramic views that take in Trafalgar Square and the Houses of Parliament.
In true Corrigan style, the menu showcases only the best of British and Irish ingredients, taking inspiration from some of Richard’s most memorable dishes from his culinary career to date, re-introducing forgotten classics to the Gallery’s guests. Expect delights from the sea and land, artisanal smokeries, and Irish soda bread from the Bentley’s bakery.
The bar focuses on vibrant wines and classic cocktails to enjoy alongside an all-day bar menu with snacks such as Vietnamese Dressed Oysters – a favourite of Richard’s, alongside a cold glass. Apart from the main restaurant offering, there will also be a chef’s counter and an alternative afternoon tea offering which will see aperitivos paired with bar snacks.
Richard is excited to rekindle his partnership with the long-established hospitality group, Searcys. With extensive experience launching restaurants and fine dining experiences in some of the UK’s most notable venues, including The Gherkin, Barbican Centre and St Pancras International, Searcys are working with Richard and the Corrigan Collection team on bringing his renowned hospitality to one of London’s most iconic galleries.
